Meet the Adebanjos Family

The wholesome, family friendly play based on a 26 year Debra Odutuyo’s experience of growing up in Peckham with Nigerian parents.

Having spent years pitching the show to the BBC unsuccessfully, the young entrepreneur decided to produce it herself, put the show online and an internet phenomenon  (almost 1 million regular viewers) was born before the show was snapped up for TV (its screened in eight different countries today and the third most watched show in South Africa with over 1.4 million viewers.)

Taking the show from the television to the stage was an organic progression, and all of the original characters perform at the Hackney Empire on November 2nd and 3rd.
