Leonardo DiCaprio is donating a whopping $15 million of his fortune to charity, with all of the money going to causes towards saving the environment.
In a statement, the Wolf of Wall Street actor said: ‘The destruction of our planet continues at a pace we can no longer afford to ignore. We have a responsibility to innovate a future where the habitability of our planet does not come at the expense of those who inhabit it. I am proud to support these organisations who are working to solve humankind’s greatest challenge.’
Amazon Watch, National Geographic: Pristine Seas, Save the Elephants and the World Wildlife Fund are among the groups that will receive grants from the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to help them continue their efforts.
The Oscar-nominated star previously helped raise more than $25 million for the campaign to save wild regions and animals across the world at a charity gala last year.
