As the 2015 General Election gathers momentum, chieftains of the defunct Democratic People Alliance (DPA) in Lagos State, have re-grouped to resuscitate the campaign structure of Chief Jimi Agbaje for the governorship race of the state.Agbaje, fondly called J.K.A by his admirers was the governorship candidate of DPA in the 2011 election in Lagos State. He came third in the election results.

Speaking to newsmen at a meeting of leaders and coordinators of DPA at the wards, local and state government levels, held at Maryland in Lagos yesterday, coordinator of the forum, Mr. Olayiwola Popoola, told newsmen that Agbaje remains the only candidate that is capable to unlock the potentials of the Lagos State for accelerated and even development.

Popoola said although DPA has been de-registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), its leaders, coordinators and structure are still intact.

“We have been communicating and working assiduously for the Jimi Agbaje’s governorship ambition. He remains most qualified candidate for the job and one that is capable to unlock the potential of Lagos State.

“Our people are now wiser and Lagosians have known better. JKA remains their best bet. His influence cuts across all ethnic groupings. He is loved by the people and he has what it takes to govern the state.

“As a matter of fact and I stand to be corrected, Governor Babatunde Fashola has been using JKA’s blueprint for Lagos State. Fashola has no blueprint when he emerged as governor of the state. It was JKA’s blueprint that he is copying and implementing. I stand to be corrected. Let Fashola produce his blueprint before he became governor of the state,” Popoola stated.

The meeting, which has between two to four representatives from each of the 57 local government areas in the state, later turned to a reunion ceremony as the invited chieftains could not hide their excitement seeing one another again.

Popoola disclosed that the forum is yet to decide on which of the platform of the registered political party will JKA contest but said; “I can confidently tell you that he is going to contest.”
