HIT CARIBBEAN comedy Me and Mi Kru will debut on UK television next month.
Me and Mi Kru – a tale about a single parent mother and her son living in the ghetto of Kingston, Jamaica – will launch on ABN TV on March 1.
The son, Junior Hype!, played by Jamaican DJ Benzly Hype, is a wannabe dancehall artist, who has formed a group called ‘Innocent Kru’. Despite is faith in his musical bandmates, ‘Innocent Kru’ struggle to land shows, promote themselves and move ahead in the Jamaican music industry.
One day, Junior Hype!, an avid buyer of lottery tickets, is given the wrong numbers by a teller. However, to his surprise he wins 250 million dollars.
The family move uptown to a mansion in Cherry Gardens, bringing with them their ghetto lifestyle, their goat and mongrel dog that breeds the local ‘pedigrees’.
In further episodes, ‘The Kru’s’ journey through the music business and the complications caused by Hype! his mother and their friends in the uptown neighbourhood.
Watch Me and Mi Kru exclusively on ABN TV, a new and exciting African Caribbean TV channel bringing the very best in African Caribbean entertainment, on sky channel 290 from March 1.
Me and My Kru will air every Saturday at 7.30pm and repeated every Wednesday at 7pm.
