The likes of Godfrey Oboabona, Sunday Mba and Ejike Uzoenyi have been linked with several clubs shortly after the Nations Cup victory but Nwosu who was part of the team that won the 1980 AFCON for Nigeria has warned that any mistake they make at this stage will affect their career forever.

“It is good to win laurels at young age but they need wisdom to manage what will come out from it. I read papers everyday that several clubs are chasing the league players that were part of the Eagles’ AFCON winning team,” begins Nwosu.

“It is good for them but they have to be very careful in the decision they make because any mistake now can affect their career in future. So they need to cool down and think very well before they sign any contract.”
“Many Nigerian players have made serious mistakes in the past and they should learn from that so that they will not do the same.”

The Super Eagles defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final of the AFCON and it was Sunday Mba, one of the home-based players that scored the goal to help Nigeria win the trophy after 19 years.
