Former Super Eagles winger, Emmanuel Amuneke, has advised the victorious Nigerian team to the just concluded 2013 Africa Nations Cup to focus on how to beat Kenya in their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The Super Eagles will play the Harambee Stars of Kenya on March 23 in Calabar and the AFCON victory is expected to help the players excel in the World Cup qualifiers.
“We are all happy that Nigeria is the best in Africa today and I am sure that the feat will help the players a lot,” says Amuneke.
“They need to get down to business and work harder to ensure that Nigeria qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. And Kenya being the next game they are going to play, they need to win that match convincingly.”
“With the victory recorded at the Nations Cup in South Africa, expectations are very high from Nigerians as they are looking forward to seeing us qualifying for the World Cup and they need to live up to it.”
Amuneke is also confident that Nigeria will not fail to qualify for the Mundial which will hold in Brazil.
“I don’t see anything stopping us from qualifying for the next World Cup, but I will urge our players to be focused and give their best against Kenya and other qualifying games.
