CHILD SUPPORT BATTLE: Chris Brown has demanded a second paternity test on his one-year-old daughter Royalty
FOLLOWING AN earlier feud between Chris Brown and his baby’s mother, Nia Guzman, over their daughter’s support and custody, the R&B star has reportedly filed legal papers which ordered a second paternity test.
Guzman’s family attorney, Carl Anthony Moore said, “Chris is asking the judge to order a paternity test.”
This comes a month after the Run It! singer filed legal documents to establish paternity of his one-year-old daughter, Royalty, resolve child support issues.
Brown’s and Guzman’s feud kicked off when the singer found out that his child’s mother was reportedly asking for $15,000 every month as child support.
Unimpressed by the absurd request, Brown ended up paying only $2,500 a month. However, the final agreement was settled at $10,000.
Though Brown first agreed Guzman’s demand of $10,000, he apparently went back on the offer after he reportedly found out that Guzman took their daughter to Royalty’s grandmother, instead of to him.
As he began his appeal process, the award-winning star claimed that Guzman deprived him from seeing Royalty, which pushed him to ask the judge to put a clear guideline of Royalty’s support and custody.
Brown has also asked that Royalty’s birth certificate be changed and his name should be enlisted as her father, since Guzman’s boyfriend, Brazil Riesling, is currently named on the birth certificate.
As the case runs, if proven that Chris Brown is the biological father of the baby girl, he will have the right to battle Guzman over Royalty’s support and custody.
