The Ayew brothers, Andre Dede and Jordan, have agreed to call-off their international exile and come out of retirement after meeting with the President of Ghana.

Both Andre and younger brother Jordan, said in February, that they are retiring from the Black Stars of Ghana, following the rift they had with the Ghanaian Football Association.

The brothers were said to have met with the President of Ghana, John Mahama, who entreated with them to change their stand.

“Everything is okay and I hope things with the Ghana federation will be better,” Andre was quoted to have said on the BBC, after their meeting with the President.

“We cannot play football with conditions. We play football with our heart. There are no conditions set to our comeback.”

“What matters is the best for our country. We are back to do everything and let Ghana qualify for the World Cup,” the Ayew brothers said.

Ghana’s Sports minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, revealed that the Ayew brothers rescinded their decision after meeting with the President, who first visited them in France, before they met again in Accra.

“When the President went to France he met the Ayew brothers and talked to them,” said Ankrah.

“We have had fruitful discussions with them and they have agreed to come back unconditionally. It is a great day for Ghana football.

“We want the best players for Ghana and we should work hard to make them available for the country.”

The question is, how good must a player be, for the President of a country to convince him to come and play for the national team?
