Maigari based his optimism on the recent development in the country’s football administratively.
Maigari spoke to Tribunesports moments after presenting his papers at Monday’s public hearing of the House of Representatives’ committee on Sports on the bill for the repeal of the Nigerian Football Association Act CAP 110 Laws of the federation of Nigeria 2004.
The NFF boss stated that he was very optimistic that as soon as the NFF bill becomes law, the nation’s football house would be focused since everything would have been well taken care of.
“I am pleased with the way things are turning out for our football. By the time this bill becomes law, we will all be focused as all these distractions will no longer be there’’
He lamented the incessant court cases that have dogged the path of the NFF since the tenure of the present board started.
“Once we are through with all these, our short, medium and long term targets would now be realisable and the issue of private sector funding to drive some of the football programmes would have been within reach.
Earlier in his speech, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, represented by Honourable Nnena Ukeje Elendu, chairperson for Foreign Affairs of the House acknowledged the enormity of the task before the committee as he assured that the entire House of Representatives is behind the project of repealing the law and instituting a new one to usher in a new dawn in the country’s football affairs.
