Lagos government has said that it will continue to give high priority to outstanding students who excel in sports by increasing their scholarship allocations.
Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, Otunba Fatai Olukoga said this at the at the first bi-annual inter house sports competition of Tindip Schools Ikorodu, Lagos.
Olukoga who was aslo the chairman of the competition noted that scholarships will cut across tetiary and secondary schools and it is applicable to all Lagos resident.
According to him: “‘The government of Lagos State has given and will be giving more scholarships and bursary to Lagos residents in order to assist students who are very good in sports. We want all student sthat come out of our schools to be well grounded in all aspects of education.
“We will continue to support all the student in their quest to be great sports me. We n one is well motivated he is bound to do the right thing.
The proprietress of Tindip schools, Mrs. Yinka Arigbede also stated that outstanding students should be mentally and physically sound for them to excel in all their endeavours in life.
She also said that sports is good for the healthy development of children.
Dignitaries at the event are: Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya was the patron of the competion while Elder Dapo Adelegan was the special guest of honour.
