Nigeria’s wealthiest pastor, Bishop David Oyedepo, has reportedly put two of his four private planes up for sale.
According to a report in the Nigerian media, the venerable clergyman has become overwhelmed with the colossal costs of managing four planes, and is said to have taken the decision to sell two of them. It is not yet known which planes he’s looking to sell.
Earlier this year the bishop announced his latest acquisition- a $35 million Gulfstream V Jet. He also announced plans for a private aircraft hangar. Before he acquired the Gulfstream V, the man of God owned a Challenger 604 and a Gulfstream IV.
Oyedepo has accumulated a vast fortune through his extensive real estate holdings, a publishing empire, and interests in universities and high schools. In June, I estimated his fortune was roughly $150 million.
I called Oyedepo’s church earlier this morning to confirm the story. The phone rang, but no one answered.
