Tuesday’s friendly match between Ghana and Nigeria at Watford’s Vicarage Road has been called off over safety concerns.
• England v Netherlands cancelled
• Carling Cup games postponed
Several Carling Cup games had already been postponed and England were forced to cancel their friendly with Netherlands at Wembley following the recent rioting in England.
An event organiser had said earlier in the day that the Ghana vs Nigeria match was due to go ahead as a significant police presence would not be required, but the Ghana FA has now confirmed the game will not take place.
“We have just been informed by the match organisers about the latest decision, calling off today’s friendly with Nigeria at Watford,” executive committee member Randy Abbey said.
