Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) of Lagos State has stated that security issue is a major challenge that must be given adequate attention.

The Governor made this known through Mrs. Oluranti Adebule, the Secretary to the State Government while receiving Students Course 24 of the Armed Forces Command Staff College, Kuru, Jos.
Mr. Fashola noted that it was in realization of the importance of security that his administration is supporting the security operatives to ensure the safety of lives and properties. He therefore enjoined security agencies to intensify their efforts in order to curtail the security challenges posed by Boko Haram Sect.
The Governor further noted that the efforts of the Staff College in updating the knowledge of its students and that of their foreign partners would improve the nation’s relationship with the outside world.
Earlier in his speech, Major Henry Ayoola, the Commandant of the College noted that since the inception of the College in 1976, it has contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria through its peace-keeping efforts.
The Commandant said further that the visit was mainly an environmental tour in which the students would gather data and report on their findings at a lecture scheduled for February, in Kuru, Jos.
The Commandant later presented a plaque to the Governor through the Secretary in recognition of role of the Lagos State Government in peace keeping.
Present at the occasion were the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Wale Ahmed, Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, Major Tunde Panox and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Duties, Dr. Remi Desalu.
