The Nigeria Football Federation says Aminu Maigari has been reinstated as president after he was forced out of office during the World Cup, leading to the country being banned from all football by FIFA.
The NFF said that Maigari returned to work on Monday morning.
Maigari was sacked by the government on his return to Nigeria following the team’s elimination at the World Cup in Brazil. That led FIFA to suspend Nigeria on July 9 because of government interference, which the world body does not allow.
The suspension was lifted nine days later on the condition that Maigari would be reinstated.
In Monday’s statement, NFF official Emeka Inyama said “there were disagreements and (a) misunderstanding for a number of weeks, but FIFA has cleared the air.”
Nigeria is the current African champion.
