Nigerian football is suffering from another major scandal after a document that implicates Kano Pillars in match-fixing was revealed.

The document is entitled “Match Officials Reception Committee of Kano Pillars Football Club” and contains details about bribes made to the match officials.

N820,000 was the price for the guaranteed away win, out of which the first Referee would get N500,000, while the two Assistant Referees would get N150,000 each, with N20,000 budgeted for Miscellaneous expenses.

For guaranteed away draws, a total of N620,000 was allegedly budgeted, out of which the Center Referee would receive N300,000, while the two Assistant Referees would receive N150,000 each, with N20,000 going for Miscellaneous expenses.

The meeting was held on the 4th of May 2014 and since then Pillars won seven, drew three and lost once to collect 24 points from a possible 33. Which raise suspicions about whether they deserve their Nigeria Premier League title.

Kano Pillars won the title after NFF’s Appeals Committee ordered a replay of the game against Enyimba in strange circumstances.
