The market capitalization of 186 first-tier equities appreciated by N35 billion as market sentiments turned positive.
Four out of the five NSE sectoral indices closed positive as NSE 30 which basically measures the performance of blue chips gain and NSE Oil & Gas, NSE Insurance and NSE Banking recording upward move while NSE Food & Beverages is the only sectoral index that loss.
At the close of trading session, the NSE All-Share Index rose by 0.56 per cent to close at 20,426.21.
Financial Services sector led the market transaction volume yesterday with 290 million units valued at N1.215 billion exchanged in 2,369 deals.
The volume recorded in the sector was driven by transaction in the shares UBA, Sterling Bank and Access Bank.
Transaction volume on the exchange dropped by 358 million units value at N1.706 billion in 3,902 deals as against 490.20 million units exchanged in 4,472 deals.
