Lagos Fashion Week: Copyright Infringement Suit

Lagos Fashion Week copyright infringement suit against Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) and Leaders & Co owners of Thisday Newspapers (Arise Fashion Week Lagos), Federal High Court #2, Abuja today 10th February, 2014, delivered a ruling dismissing the preliminary objections of both NCC and Leaders & Co. (owners of Thisday Newspapers) challenging the jurisdiction of the court and competence of the suit.

The court in a well-considered ruling ruled that there is a serious cause of action against Thisday for holding Arise Fashion Week Lagos in violation of the copyright of International Pageants & Films Ltd., the owners of Lagos Fashion Week.
