Contrary to wide spread report in national dailies, Democratic Peoples Alliance (DPA) governorship candidate in the 2007 elections in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has denied that he was taken to President Goodluck Jonathan as potential candidate of the lead opposition in Lagos State by a Peoples Democratic Party stalwart, Chief Bode George.

Agbaje, while speaking with THISDAY Tuesday expressed surprise that he was reported to have met with the President, saying he had met George, once and that it was about three years ago.

While assuring the people that come 2015 he would be participating in politics, he stressed that he has not taken a decision on which party’s platform he would be seeking his governorship ambition, but he emphasised that whenever he decides on which party to join, he would not be party of imposition.

“You will remember that I crossed to the DPA over issues having to do with imposition. I will never be part of imposition. In fact, President Jonathan himself went through primary. You will recall that my party, the DPA had a free and fair party primary that threw me up as the candidate of the party”, Agbaje reiterated.

He however maintained that when he eventually takes a decision on which party to join, he would make it public.
