Winter is gone and spring is here; with the change of seasons, so comes a change in wardrobe. The fashion forecast for the next few months is lace, bold prints and bright colors, according to twin fashion designers Danielle and Chantelle Dwomoh-Piper, collectively known as the “Dpiper Twins.”

This fashion duo recently returned from Lagos, Nigeria, where they showcased their clothing and accessory lines for Arise magazine’s 2012 fashion week.

The young entrepreneurs are graduates of the Fashion Institute of Technology and launched their fashion and accessory line in 2010. The line is full of exuberant, bright colors and daring accessories.

Danielle is the main designer of the fashion line, Kastle Designs, while Chantelle is the main designer of the jewelry line, Treasure Chest Jewelry. The lines were named to give a sense of royalty and influence the wearer of their creations to feel beautiful, empowered and elegant.

Even though each sister focuses on a separate line, their creations meld together seamlessly on the runway and command a second look. Chantelle said, “Our ideas and fashion preferences complement each other, which makes us a great team.”

Kastle Designs spotlights short cocktail and evening dresses made of rich, embroidered and beaded fabrics, fine silks and satins and elegant chiffon. Treasure Chest Jewelry consists of bold pieces that are created using gemstones, crystals, pearls, beads and sandstones. The jewelry collection’s summer look is centered around long, shimmery, colorful earrings.

The Dpiper Twins use their artistic skills to express themselves as individuals while showcasing their style and culture through their designs.

Danielle described their 2012 spring/summer collection as “filled with lace, floral prints and African prints—it’s flirty, angelic and feminine.”

The sisters say their love of fashion started early, as they were raised in a fashion-conscious home in which their mother created some of their clothing and was very particular on how they dressed.

The Dpiper Twins describe their fashion brand as “magical and lavish,” so it’s no wonder that their unique designs have caught the eyes of celebrities such as Toni Braxton, model and actress Rose Marie Reyes and America’s Next Top Models Naima Mora and Bianca Golden. Their designs have been in Vogue Japan and on the show “Gossip Girl.”

The sisters also have a second successful career in modeling. They have been featured on “Good Morning America,” “Celebrity Apprentice,” “The Rachael Ray Show,” MTV commercials and “Today” on NBC, as well as in Vogue Japan, Arise magazine, David & Young and League magazine.

“This summer, it’s all about standing out, and you’ll be sure to be the center of attention in [our designs],” said Danielle, who aspires to grow her brand to the levels of Chanel or Valentino. “We have big dreams for ourselves and set no limitations.”

These designers have a keen eye for what looks good on a woman and take care to make sure their designs look fabulous on the runway while maintaining a realistic style that is wearable from day to night off the runway. Their designs can be purchased from their website, www.kastledesignsandtreasurechest.com, and at the store Modelistas in the Limelight Shops on Sixth Avenue.
